10. Nike! JOKING. Actually, Kai wears fairly common shoes for poor folk in Iaria. They are wooden sandals made from the soft, tender wood of a Duka tree's pitch black wood.
The strap of dyed black cloth on each sandal is simple burlap.
Kai's best friend, Lant, hand-made these shoes as a wedding gift for Kai and Maye's wedding, which ended up not happening and flopping...but that's another story.
